Driver onboarding paths
Admins can allow drivers to start using the mobile app in two main ways:
Admin invite: The admin creates the driver account in the back office. The system emails the driver a temporary password. On first login with email, the driver enters the registered email and the temporary password, then sets a permanent one.
Self-sign-up (if enabled): If self-sign-up is activated in the back office, drivers can create their own account directly in the app. This can be open to all drivers or restricted to specific accounts through account links.
Self-sign-up process
Self-onboarding is available for white-label apps of public charging network operators.
Steps:
The driver downloads the app and taps Sign up on the main screen.
They choose between:
Add a credit card if required by the account’s billing policy.
Back office note: Self-signed users are created in a default account, indicated in Public charging settings. Admins can transfer users if needed. To enable self-sign-on, contact Wevo Support at support@wevo.energy.
Login methods
The main app entry screen supports both login and sign-up (if allowed).
Email and password:
Invited users log in with the temporary password and reset it.
Self-signed users log in with the password they created.
Google: Login available on all platforms (sign-up only if self-registration is enabled).
Apple: Login available on iOS (sign-up only if self-registration is enabled).
Self-sign-up for a specific account
Instead of manual assignment, new drivers can be linked directly to a specific account using an account invitation link from the back office.
How it works:
The driver opens the link, enters name and email, and receives an invitation email with instructions.
The profile is automatically created in the back office and linked to the correct account.
The invitation link can be disabled anytime for more control.
FAQs
Can I disable self-sign-up for all drivers?
Yes. Self-sign-up is only available if the operator enables it in the back office.
What happens if a driver registers in the wrong account?
They are placed in the default account. Admins can transfer drivers to the correct account from the back office.
Do drivers always need to provide payment details during sign-up?
Only if the account’s billing policy requires it. If not required, drivers can skip this step.
