What is a panel?
A panel represents the electrical distribution point at your site. It defines how much total capacity is available and how much of that capacity can be allocated to EV charging. Panels can also connect to meters for real-time monitoring and load balancing.
Only admin users can create and manage panels. All settings are visible in the Energy tab and reflected on the Dashboard.
Why it matters
Panels give operators control over how site energy is allocated to EV charging. You can:
Cap EV charging to avoid overloading infrastructure.
Adjust charging limits during peak hours to support demand response programs.
Reserve capacity for other building loads at certain times.
Maximize throughput when energy is abundant or less costly.
By combining fixed limits with schedule-based options, operators gain flexibility without requiring constant manual adjustments.
How to add a panel:
Follow these steps to create a panel:
Go to the Energy tab in the back office.
Select the site you want to add a panel to.
At the far right of the screen, click the “...” menu.
From the dropdown, select Add panel.
A pop-up will appear.
Fill in the following:
Name the panel.
Rated limit – Set the amp rating of the panel.
EV limit – Choose how much capacity to allocate to EV charging (see options below).
Fixed – Available in both parent and child panels. Set a constant amp value that does not change. This is the simplest way to cap EV load.
Scheduled – Available only in parent panels. Automatically adjust EV charging capacity throughout the day:
Choose a schedule from the existing library (contact support if you need a new one).
Set an off-peak limit – Higher availability when grid or site capacity allows.
Set a peak limit – Lower cap during constrained hours.
Scheduled limits are available only for main panels. Child panels support fixed values only.
Select a meter (optional) – Supported meters include:
Shelly 3EM (140A) – [installation guide]
Shelly Pro 3EM (400A) – [installation guide]
SolarEdge – view solar production and grid consumption [more info]
Enegic – load balancing and solar charging
NexBlue – load balancing and solar charging
eGauge – load balancing and solar charging [installation guide]
Click Apply to save the panel.
Access & visibility
Only admin users can configure panels.
All settings are visible in the Energy tab and on the Dashboard.
Drivers do not see panel limits directly in the app – they are applied in the background.
FAQs
Can I configure scheduled EV limits on child panels?
No. Scheduled EV limits apply only to main panels.
What happens if I don’t set a schedule?
The system applies the fixed amp value you define.
Do drivers see these limits?
No. Limits are applied automatically. Drivers only experience adjusted charging availability based on the site’s configuration.
