Card-Present Payments with Payter Terminals

To comply with regulatory requirements in various countries, charging station operators must now support card-present payments via terminals like Payter. Wevo has integrated with Payter, enabling operators to configure and manage Payter terminals directly from the Wevo back office. This integration simplifies the payment process for guest drivers at public charging points, ensuring a smoother and more compliant charging experience.

Configure Payter Terminals in the Back Office

Before configuring terminals in the Wevo back office, you need to set up a Payter account and register your terminals. To do so, visit Payter Registration. Once the account is created and terminals are assigned, obtain your Payter API key and send it to the Wevo Support team. The Wevo team will complete the integration with the back office platform. After successful integration, an indication will appear in the "Payment terminal" section under the Billing Platforms settings, located within the Operator settings.

Associate Chargers with Payter Terminals

Operator admins can associate a charger’s connector with a Payter terminal by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Chargers tab.

  2. Locate the desired charger → Click on the charger’s 3-dots menu → Select Edit charger.

  3. In the "Payment terminal" field, assign a terminal to the charger.

  4. Choose a terminal from the list associated with the integrated account (the list is imported from the Payter account).

Charger Display Name on the Terminal

The charger alias will be used as the display name on the Payter terminal. Note that the display name must adhere to a 7-character limit. For chargers with multiple connectors, the connector number will automatically be added as a suffix to the alias.

Assigning the Charger Rate

To assign a rate to a site:

  1. Navigate to the Energy tab.

  2. Locate the site connected to the charger associated with the terminal → Click the site’s 3-dots menu → Select Edit charger.

  3. Enable the QR/Terminal charging option.

  4. Once enabled, the QR/Terminal rate selection option will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click to assign a rate.

This integration ensures that Payter payment terminals are effectively managed and configured, offering seamless and compliant payment options for EV drivers.
