Why set up Stripe's connected accounts?

With Stripe's connected accounts, you can enable a site host revenue share in Wevo's back office platform. The site host revenue-share solution will give you much greater control of your finances and allow you to perform revenue share between you and the site hosts.

Simply set a Stripe-connected account and define the percentage to share with them. Revenues will flow seamlessly, and you will have full visibility of the money flow.

This guide explains how to get a Stripe account and connect your account to a specific country. Follow the detailed steps.

To set up your Stripe account to enable site host revenue share, please follow the guide below.

Step #1 - Create an account

01 Create a Stripe master account

The first step is to create your own Stripe master account by filling in your information at the following link: https://dashboard.stripe.com/register.

02 Adding Wevo as a developer

Once you have your Stripe account, please add the email billing@wevo.energy as a Developer user so we can connect it to our system.

  1. Go to Settings:

  2. Click on ‘Team’, the first option under the ‘Team and security’ section.

  3. Click on the ‘new member’ button:

  4. Enter our email as the team member's address. Our email: billing@wevo.energy

  5. Then, select the Developer role:

03 Account confirmation

Once the Stripe is set up, a notification will be sent to us. We will let you know once the account setup is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation within 5 working days, please inform billing@wevo.energy and your account manager.

Step #2 - Activate connected accounts functionality

  1. Get into your Stripe account.

  2. Click on ‘More’ and then choose the ‘Connect’ option:

  3. Before creating a new connected account, you will need to edit the Express settings. Access it by clicking on “+ Create” button and then the “Review Express Settings” link.

  4. In Express Settings:

    1. Select the relevant countries in which you will be using Stripe.

    2. Enable the “Payments” option.

    3. Make sure the “Cards” option is active.

    4. Click “Save” on the button on the screen.

  5. To create a new connected account, go be to the “Connected accounts” screen and press “+ Create”

  6. On the “Create a connected account” pop-up, make sure to select the “Express” type and the correct country, and then click the “Continue” button.

  7. This will generate the connected account and an onboarding link you can send to the site hosts to complete the process.

Once the site host completes the process, the account is ready for use.
