What is a Charger Scope?

Charger scope settings provide precise control over who can view and use specific charging stations. Access these settings when adding a new charger through the Add charger dialog by clicking on the (+) button or selecting the three-dot menu to edit existing charger.

Available Scope Options

The charger scope can be set to one of these values:

  • Closed - The charger remains unavailable for use. This setting works well as a temporary status when installing new chargers before determining their final scope.

  • Open - The charger operates without security restrictions, allowing unlimited plug-and-charge access

  • Private - The charger is assigned to a specific driver responsible for billing. This setting suits apartment buildings with designated parking spaces

  • Account - The charger is available to all account members to view in the mobile app map, start charging sessions, and use RFID cards. Guests can access through QR code scanning. This setting works well for workplaces and shared parking facilities

  • Groups - Charger access is limited to specific group members who can view the mobile app map, initiate charging, and use RFID cards. Guests can access through QR code scanning. This setting suits workplace environments where multiple companies or departments share parking spaces

  • Public - The charger is accessible to all operator members via the mobile app map, where they can view it, start charging sessions, and use RFID cards. Guests can access it through QR code scanning.

Note: The Account, Groups, and Public settings automatically enable secure charging features.
