Why is the charger showing “Faulted”?
The charger status may change to "Faulted" often due to power outages caused by weather conditions. The charger could have a loss of power or power fluctuations. When power has been restored, the charger may not have booted up correctly.
Additionally, issues such as intermittent communication or a car not accepting a charge can also cause the charger to display a "Faulted" status. These issues may arise from loose connections, software glitches, or vehicle-specific settings.
How to Resolve Charger Issues
To reset the charger, try these steps:
Click the Reset charger to reset the hardware.
Check all cable connections to ensure they are secure. Reseat any loose cables to confirm proper connection.
If the resets did not clear the fault, perform a power cycle.
3. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker.
a. If the charger is still faulted, turn off the power at the circuit breaker for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. This process of rebooting the charger will take about 1-3 minutes. A power cycle completely shut down the station from all power. When powering the station back up, all software and hardware will reboot to an available status.
Contact support:
If the issue persists, it may indicate a more complex problem requiring professional assistance. Contact a qualified electrician or consult your vehicle’s manufacturer for further support.
If this does not resolve the issue, please open a ticket with the charger ID and the date and time of the power cycle. This information will help narrow down the logs to locate the fault reported.
Provide as much detail as possible, including any error codes displayed, the charger model, and a description of the issue.
